Addition, Screened-In Porch, & Bath
About this Project:
Our clients wanted a space where they could safely enjoy wildlife in their backyard and a spacious, functional workshop. They also both wanted a larger master bath and easy access to their outdoor stage.
With rough sawn beams and a tongue and groove ceiling, we created a rustic two-story addition. Posed with a unique problem of a lower level conditioned space and an upper level enclosed space exposed to the elements, we created a pitched, deck-sized ‘shower pan’ to waterproof the downstairs workshop. The addition allowed us to expand the master bath, which we finished with an updated custom tile shower, finished with a spray-on seal giving a permanent wet-like shine. A custom stone design was used as accent pieces in the tile shower and the vanity. The outdoor staircase was designed with aging-in-place in mind, built with gentle risers for easy access to the backyard. A stone pathway was designed and custom-made to provide an artistic walkway to the stage area for our client’s guests.
